3:30 am Tuesday

Good Morning!

We have slept good so far, but always seem to wake up about this time, have a bite to eat and go back to sleep for awhile. Richard is having a piece of pizza, and I'm having a coffee.

Min Min is still sleeping, and hasn't moved around much in the night. I hope that sleep will help her feel better come morning. We are doing fine. We know from stories of others that the grieving is good and necessary, and it is not getting us down. It is just so hard that we can't really talk to Min Min, to comfort her. About all I can do at this point is sit on the floor with her and rub her back. LiAnne did grieve for the first few days, and didn't let Richard or my folks near her for 9 days, but no crying. Taylor didn't really seem to grieve at all, but his bonding has been a lot slower. But, both are doing well and did eventually adjust to us, so we know that Min Min will, too.

Both of the people who came with her from the SWI call her Jiang Min Min--her full name, so that is what we are calling her now. We did use that as her middle name, and will see what she wants to be called some day when she is feeling better.

Talked to my mom, and both Taylor and LiAnne are doing fine. We are thankful for that, and it would have been really hard for them to have been here today.

Thank you to all who are praying. Keep it up! We know that prayers and love will get us through. Thanks to those who are commenting on the blog--it is a great encouragement to be able to read your comments and know you are praying.

Our family will say a prayer for you and Janelle tonight. She is blessed God found a Mama for her that is so understanding of what she needs to go through as she leaves her old life and starts the new one.

Hi Starla,

Hope Janelle is doing better and know that we are praying for you and your family.

The picture of Janelle sitting on the sidewalk is the saddest picture. It totally broke my heart.

I remember seeing MinMin a long time ago. I would have checked into her myself, but we were working on another adoption. She is so pretty and looks like she is getting a great family.

You continue to be in our prayers! Eager to hear how Jiang Min Min is doing today. I thought that it was VERY good that she allowed you sit by her and rub her back while she was crying. Our daughter would get up and move when I sat near her in China....now I can't get her off my lap!

Hi Starla,

It's Sara again from AH. It seems as though you are breaking down the walls, little by little...yeah!!! Last month while we were in China adopting Lauren it took six full days for her to even look at me. She would only let my two other children help her. She too did not want to eat much at all...LOTS of crying, I mean you could hear her in the USA. She would throw herself under her crib, face the wall and kick and scream for hours. I felt like you did...not being able to really communicate with her was the most difficult part. We are now a family for six weeks, and it is night and day. Lauren now completely trusts and loves us. Literally, it was as though someone turned a knob and made her a different person one morning after she woke up in her own room in her new home. While you are going through this part, just keep reminding yourself that sooner than later you will be a HAPPY family. She obviously had a wonderful SWI and foster family who taught her how to love and bond...there is no greater gift that you and your husband could recieve...and she WILL bond with you as soon as she is done grieving her loss. Keep smiling!!!
