Silk Factory

We also stopped by the silk factory today. It was the stop I found most interesting. We saw how they took the cocoons, opened them up, stretched them out, stretched them some more, and eventually made them into silk quilts or comforters. I thought it was pretty interesting, and even got to help stretch one layer of a quilt they were making. It takes about 8,000 double cocoons to make one double bed sized quilt. Of course, the sales pitch came at the end, but it was well worth the stop.
