Monday night 8:00 pm report

The crying started up again just a few minutes after Connie left. Min Min would not eat anything, and just cried harder if we tried to do anything for her......

It is finally quiet around here. I tried to get MinMin to put on pj's and lay down on the bed, but she wouldn't do it. I laid a blanket down on the floor next to her with a pillow, and she laid down on it. I covered her up, put her bear next to her, and she is out. I hope that she will sleep through the night and wake up happier in the morning. Please be praying throughout your day that she will be calmer in the morning. Her crying is just grieving....we can tell that there is no anger or meanness in it, just grief.

We have to meet Connie at the Civil Affairs office tomorrow morning to do the paperwork for the adoption. That means we have to be up early and down to breakfast in order to grab a taxi at 7:45.

Hopefully we'll have some happier pictures tomorrow.

We're doing fine, and the pizza was pretty good!

Starla: It's me - Shelli... Would it help MinMin to talk to Xiao Zhen? She's 13 and has been home for 2 weeks now. We were fortunate not to have any tears or sadness, she has been joyful all along. But I know it would probably help your daughter to talk to someone close to her age? You can call me - email me at shellic@mac.com - I can get that email on my phone and I'll give you my #.

Starla, please know you are not alone. Ava (age 4) cried and stood at the hotel door for days saying she wanted to go back. Heart-wrenching......but necessary for some! Time and the other children will make things change for her, I bet. Please now our prayers are with you! Yeah, Janelle!

Starla - I'm keeping you all in my thoughts. We also had Connie as our guide in 2003. I think she has a child about MinMin's age so I bet she is a huge help.

"Sing praise to the Lord...weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning." Psalm 30:4,5

You're doing great and we will keep praying for you that today will be better.

Love you! Hi Janelle!!

Starla -

I just thought I'd check in to see how you were doing . . . the sidewalk picture (in the post below) just broke my heart =/

I hope today is a better day for all of you. Janelle is such a brave young girl - and I'm sure that time & the love of your family will help her grieve/heal.

Send our best to Connie! She was our guide last year & she was AMAZING. I love spotting her in other people's journals =)

(My daughter is from Boa'an in Shenzhen)

Best Wishes & HUGE *hugs* from Naples,FL!

Starla, Please know that I am praying for you, your husband and Janelle!! It is tough for these older girls as my 11 yr old daughter also grieved her foster mother. It is also tough on you because as the mom you just want to make things better for her! Hang in there! Praying for a good nights rest and better day tomorrow!
