Wednesday morning

Today started off much better. I used babelfish to tell MinMin that we were going downstairs to breakfast. She came willingly, and ate two big plates of food. First food in two days. We then walked around the island, and she held my hand as we walked ( I didn't want her to run away. lol) We dropped off some laundry at Sherry's Place, then went into another store to shop. I wanted to buy her game that she is familiar with, but she started wimpering, and we decided to do our shopping later.

Came back to the room, and she is watching TV for now. Richard talked to our son on the web cam, and she got up and walked over to see what he was doing. The curiosity is encouraging.

Keep praying. We feel like we have taken two steps forward today, but know the one step back will come.

No pics yet....haven't wanted to point the camera at her yet. Maybe we'll try to take some when we go out this afternoon.

She hasn't changed clothes yet, but we figure that isn't the least important for now.

Thanks again for praying, and for the many comments you have left. Each one has been soooooo encouraging.

Starla,

I knew she would come around and before you know it she'll be buying all sorts of things with your money, lol and trying on clothes, etc. Let her take some pictures with the camera, see if she likes it ? Just a thought. You remain in our prayers, now I can go to bed, lol.

Starla, You know, I was going to suggest holding hands. It seems to be a very culturally comforting thing to do. Our son loves, loves, loves to hold hands. It helps him to feel safe. I'm glad everyone has had some food! Yea! We'll keep praying! Laurie

Starla,

I have been praying for your family and for MinMin's little heart. Today's news is very hopeful I think. You and Richard seem so patient and that is exactly what MinMin needs. God knows exactly what he's doing.

God bless,

Starla, So happy for the bit of progress you are making with MinMin. LIke Tiff says, she eventually will shop. Be careful when you get home not to let Tiff take her shopping as she will learn very quickly.LOL! So glad she ate something today. I knew she would when she got hungry. Love to all!

I'll pray for you and MinMin when I go to church today. I'm so glad you are holding up. I adopted my girl when she was 28 months and we had hard time. She would have nothing to do with me and would only let my husband hold her. He got worn out quick. I can only amagine what condition an older child would be in. There is a time for everything, this is her time to mourn; there will be a time for her rejoice. One of the best time memories for me was when I got back to the States and took my daughter gocery shopping. Something so simple and it was like she was in wonderland.

Starla, our thoughts and prayers are most certainly with your family and Janelle. We've been following your journey and feel for all of you, and especially for Janelle's grief. We know that through God's grace time will heal, and a better day is coming for all of you! Blessings! --Barb (Cybershower)

How encouraging to hear of the progess Min Min has made already! It has to be so hard on all of you - but baby steps will help clear the way. Prayers for you all.
